Client:DOT (Department of Transportation) FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration)
Audience: Early to New Drivers
Working at Yes& with the creative team to concept, research vendors, and develop a new technology promotional piece for Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The project was to do a soft launch of an Augmented Reality experience leveraging existing instructional videos. Collaborating with a vendor to develop an AR experience that used 4 physical cards that had an AR marker to align a small digital street showcasing 3 messages; Blind Spots, Wide Turns, Long Stopping Distances, and the 4th card launched a menu to access all 3.
The tricky item was working with the clients needs to not have an app to download. So myself and the team interviewed vendors and worked with developing a Web Based AR solution that was quickly turned around for a soft launch at a convention.
When presenting initial concepts I put together another phase where a game could add social interaction/sharing and entertaining education for early to new drivers.
Gamification
Online/Mobile edutainment game experience to get the concept across of reaction time, stopping speeds. and truck blind spots. The main focus is to
put the user in control to let them experience and with scoring and feedback have an incentive to share and challenge others to get higher scores or unlock rewards. This game can be its own virtual style where the screen has controls or the user can put on VR Goggles to be immersed in the experience.
“MCAAโs premier event provides you with an opportunity to learn, get involved and renew relationships with fellow MCAA members while enjoying exceptional educational workshops, riveting special sessions, outstanding exhibits, heartwarming major events, and social functions that never fail to amaze and delight.”
The two videos were displayed on a massive 100 foot wide by 14 feet tall screen on stage that played right before the speaker entered. What needed to be done was research of Photo, Video, and other elements and animate these with a supplies music track. They were quick turnarounds but with the help of some great creative direction and the power of Adobe After Effects we got them done.
Here are the videos I animated:
Terry Bradshaw
Laura Bush
Ted Koppel was slated to be a speaker but a last minute cancellation meant I had 3 days to edit a new video as Terry Bradshaw was his replacement. Here is what Ted’s intro would of been at the event.
Game Design. Game Development, Graphic Design, Illustration
In 2016, I jumped at the chance to learn gamification. With the team of 4 at LeapFrog we illustrated and designed four unique levels for the Back to the Pond game. I as the art director learned how to develop the entire game within months using Stencyl. Using this as a proof of concept I went from concept, through illustrations and all the way to the game being on the Android and Apple Store and look forward to applying this to something promotional or educational.
The work on Back to the Pond earned aย 2017 Gold AVA Digital Award.
Our winter follow-up to the game, Frozen Dash, also won aย 2017 Platinum Hermes Award.
The highlight video I edited together below goes over the project that consisted of Tom Hight as Creative Director and Sara Rassi on Project Lead/Management/Keeping-it-together with myself as Art Director.
I assisted with concept, design, research, animation of up to 4k video placements, and final preparation of all art to be produced and installed.
“The Army story goes beyond the battlefield. Telling the Armyโs public relations story in a way that captures the depth and importance of the Armyโs unsung communications heroesโover a timeline spanning the 1770s to the presentโpresented a daunting challenge for the U.S. Army Office of the Chief of Public Affairs (OCPA).
Through research and working with senior military officials located in the Pentagon, LeapFrog Solutions (LFS) developed an innovative solution that honored OCPAโs history in an educational and impactful way. Our strategic and creative team designed, developed, fabricated, and installed a 140-foot multimedia wall display showcasing public affairs awards and hall of fame winners, highlighting their brilliant photography, and bringing the story of the Army public affairs professional to life.“
I am a part of the Yes& Agency team as the Digital Interactive Content Designer. During the new brand rollout I helped by animating the brand video.

Poster set for the project that was divided up by age groups 1-2, 3-5, 6-18, and Adults
I worked with the team and created multiple worksheets, posters, and infographics that combined plain language with custom graphics and photos from an original photo shoot. The photoshoot was super fun, here are some pictures from the behind the scenes.
